PADI Underwater Navigator – Underwater Navigation.
3 dives
Where is the entry point? Which direction leads back? And how far have you already dived? Good navigation helps you plan your dive more consciously and find your way better underwater.
In the PADI Underwater Navigator course at how2dive, you’ll improve your compass skills and learn to use natural reference points effectively. The course adds practical abilities to your dive training that will help you on dives in local lakes as well as on vacation.
You’ll also keep buoyancy, depth, air supply, and contact with your dive buddy in view.
First, you’ll discuss the fundamentals of underwater navigation with your PADI instructor and practice compass handling on land.
Then you’ll apply what you’ve learned during three open water training dives. The exercises build on each other: you’ll practice maintaining a heading, estimating distances, and navigating different routes.
You’ll receive personal feedback and learn which orientation aids are particularly suitable under specific conditions.
The course is designed for certified divers who want to improve their orientation and take on more responsibility in joint dive planning.
You can participate from age ten with a PADI Junior Open Water Diver or Open Water Diver certification, or a recognized equivalent qualification.
