Course Content:
Diving with a Full Face Mask
In the PADI Full Face Mask Diver Course, you will learn how to properly prepare, adjust, and safely use a full face mask underwater. Unlike a conventional diving mask, your eyes, nose, and mouth are completely enclosed. This allows you to breathe through both your mouth and nose.
Full face masks can offer additional comfort in cold water and – with appropriate technical equipment – enable underwater communication. PADI also mentions these advantages in the official course description.
What you will learn in the course
Under personal guidance, you will practice:
- Structure and function of a full face mask
- Correct adjustment and donning of the mask
- Equalization and controlled breathing
- Safe handling and care of equipment
- Buoyancy and movement with the full face mask
- Important safety and emergency procedures
- Controlled switch to a conventional mask and regulator
The training takes place with personal supervision. This allows you to get used to the equipment at your own pace and repeat all exercises until the procedures are securely mastered. The course is aimed at certified divers who want to learn a new equipment configuration and expand their skills.
